WILLIAM PRESTON LANE NATURAL RESOURCE INVENTORY

MDTA and Anne Arundel County asked Mercado Consultants to perform a natural resource inventory of the Bay Bridge Police Facility in order to rehabilitate the existing storm water management facilities. Our certified wetland scientists located and delineate 8 non-tidal wetlands and 3 Waters of the US. Our DNR Qualified Professionals took sample points and delineated 3 distinct forest stands. A Joint Permit Application was prepared by Mercado as well as Wetland Impact Plates for this project.

EAST SIDE INTERCEPTOR IN US NATIONAL ARBORETUM

Mercado archaeologists monitored the rehabilitation of a 1,750 LF section of sanitary sewer for the potential discovery of cultural resources. Along with many early 20th and late 19th century artifacts, such as discarded housewares, a stone biface tool and two abandoned sewer features were found. One feature was capped with asphalt and not collapsed; leading to speculation that it may have been a well and not a sewer manhole. The other feature was built from concrete and stone rubble and had a significant amount of pottery associated with it; possibly connected to a known pottery kiln in the area.
