Technical Writer
Mercado Consultants, Inc., located in Ashton, Maryland, has an immediate opening for a technical writer, please see below:
We have an immediate opening for a full-time engineer (any discipline) or architect who has experience writing and/or reviewing technical specification documents for transit projects. The candidate must be local to the DC Metro area, and must be familiar with the CSI 50-Division MasterFormat specifications. A hybrid work location (working from the WMATA office and from home) can be considered.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, revise, and maintain WMATA standard specifications, including Division 1
- Working collaboratively with others
- Develop technical documents to support design, construction, contracts, and operations processes
- Develop and revise solicitation documents
- Prepare policy and procedure documentation
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in preparing technical specs and documents for rail transit projects
- Must be familiar with the CSI 50-Division MasterFormat specifications
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments within a transit authority
- Ability to write clearly and professionally
