Structural Engineering

Our projects range from major multi-span highway bridges to simple span pedestrian bridges. Whether concrete (precast, pre-stressed or cast-in-place), steel or timber, our experienced structural staff provides innovative solutions to new design, reconstruction, rehabilitation and widening of simple and continuous span bridges and related structures. Our engineers are experienced in the design of jointless bridges (including integral abutments), truss bridges, curved structures, retaining walls including MSE wall systems, noise abatement walls, post and panel walls, pipe and box culverts including headwalls, and SWM riser structure designs.

Mercado Consultants’ structural staff is involved in the federal effort to improve the nation’s transportation infrastructure. We perform load-ratings on existing structures, develop repairs for deteriorated structures, including historic structures using various materials, and work on projects with significant site constraints, including locations in environmentally sensitive areas.
